categories. This program, filmed in the U.K., focuses on alcoholism and the five main
areas involving psychoactive substance abuse: dependence syndrome, withdrawal state,
withdrawal state with delirium, psychotic disorder, and amnestic syndrome. Interviews with
several alcoholics illustrate the various mental disorders associated with the illness,
their symptoms, and the differential diagnoses associated with each, including
