Speck of Evidence: Electron Microscopy
When a nine-year-old girl disappeared, a massive search turned up only her
damaged pink bicycle. In this program, FBI Special Agent Jim Corby and Agent
Dennis Ward use electron microscopy and
pyrolysis gas chromatograph mass spectrometry to reveal a two-way transfer
of paint and nickel between the girl’s bike and an abductor’s car bumper.
This trial was the first in the U.S. to be televised from start to finish.
